Fraser Howe

Lorraine Ware herself as a neighborhood advocate for those on fixed incomes.

Kevin Smith, Alvara Shaw & Maudean Taylor are residents along W. Lakeview Avenue who are all concerned that the County would have to acquire some of their property to widen W. Lakeview Ave.

Response

Mr. Howe, and others on the project team, advised the residents that the City & County would offer them fair-market value for any right of way that would be needed for a future widening project. They stressed that the need for 4 lanes on W. Lakeview Avenue comes from Lake-Sumter MPO’s 20-year projection of traffic volumes, which is based on future land uses throughout the County.
The County’s 2007 – 2011 Transportation Construction Program only contains funding for the preliminary engineering study of W. Lakeview Avenue; not for final design or R/W acquisition. While the study now being performed by TY LIN INTERNATIONAL will develop a recommendation for the total width of a 4-lane widening of W. Lakeview Avenue, the amount of property to be acquired from parcels on both sides of W. Lakeview Avenue will not be determined until final design begins.
The Board of County Commissioners, on the request of the Eustis City Commission, must accept the study recommendations before final design can begin.

Public Involvement is very important to Lake County and we would like to invited you to give us your comments.
